Keeping Jamaicans Connected

What is your view on possibly having a:

"Jamaican Championship Program"

This program is still under construction. However, the idea is to get Jamaican professionals of all sorts, whether it be athletes, students, professors, doctors, lawyers, auto mechanics, chefs, models and etc. from all over the world to give back to the youth by communicating with them. Ideally this would take place through coordinating a program that would bring in a few individuals every other month into the schools within Jamaica to talk to the youth answer questions and share with them the life they live and how they too can grow up to achieve great things.

As a trial I and my partner Isa Phillips are gathering few of the Jamaican athletes some who are professionals on the circuit, coaches, or student- athletes who live within the island and those who train and may live outside of the island. We plan to do this around the time of the Jamaican National Championships in June. We are going to coordinate with Janeth Simpson-Brown of the South East Jamaican Diaspora in order to get transportation so that we can bring some of the athletes into the schools to talk to the youth. This will enable them to share their experiences and help to answer some questions the children may have. As we promote the value of having a healthy drug-free lifestyle, the importance of education, hard work and dreaming.

*There will be further details printed as they come up. Please feel free to offer any suggestions you may have that could help shape and enhance this program in the making.
